The pressure in the lamp must first be reduced before disposal. Place the lamp - in its protective sleeve - in a plastic bag and let it fall from a height of 1…1.5 m onto a hard surface (e.g. concrete).

SafetyDue to their high luminance, the UV radiation they emit and the high internal pressure within the lamp when both cold and hot, XBO® lamps must only be operated in enclosed housings designed for this purpose. The lamps must be in their protective sleeve at all times during handling. When installing or removing XBO® lamps without their protective sleeve, protective clothing must be worn at all times (face and neck protection, and leather gloves with wrist protection). Further information on this can be found in the relevant package leaflets and operating instructions. Key features and benefitsXBO® lamps are double-ended short-arc discharge lamps in which the arc burns between the two electrodes in an atmosphere of pure xenon gas.Very high luminance (point light source)Daylight colour temperature of approx. 6,000 KHigh colour rendering index (Ra>96)Consistent colour quality, regardless of lamp type and wattageHot re-ignition capability Direct current operationDimmableLong service lifeApplicationsTraditional 35 mm film projectionDigital film and video projectionArchitectural and effect lighting (‘Light Finger’?)Sunlight simulationDisposalThe internal pressure of the lamp when cold is approximately 8 bar of xenon. The pressure inside the lamp must first be released before disposal. Place the lamp – in its protective sleeve – into a plastic bag and drop it from a height of 1 to 1.5 m onto a hard surface (e.g. concrete).Further readingFurther information on XBO® lamps and their operation can be found in the following OSRAM brochures:Guideline for control gear and igniters: XBO® Xenon short-arc lampsTechnology and application of XBO® cinema lamps Lamp power: 3000 WLamp voltage: 29 VLuminous flux: 130,000 lmLuminous intensity: 12,000 cd

XBO® lamps are short-arc discharge lamps in which the arc burns in an atmosphere of pure xenon gas under high pressure.Main properties and advantagesVery high luminous density (point light source)Daylight color temperature of approx. 6,000 KContinuous spectrum in the visible rangeHigh color rendering index (Ra > 95)Continuous color quality, independent of lamp type and lamp powerConstant light color over the service lifeLong service lifeStable arcHot restrike possibleDimmableInstant light after ignitionSafetyDue to their high luminous density, the UV radiation emitted and the high internal lamp pressure in both the cold and hot state, XBO® lamps may only be operated in closed and purpose-designed housings. During handling, the lamps must be in their protective sleeve. They may only be handled openly with the application of appropriate safety measures. Further information on this can be obtained on request or please refer to the package leaflet or operating instructions.OSRAM XBO® reflector lamps are xenon gas-filled short-arc discharge lamps. They do not contain mercury or other hazardous substances and meet the requirements of EU Directive 2002/95/EC on the restriction of the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment – RoHS.In the EU, OSRAM XBO® reflector lamps fall within the scope of Directive 2002/96/EC - WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment) or their national implementations. They must be disposed of separately from household waste at the designated collection points for further processing. Information on this can be found at www.osram.com/WEEE and from your national OSRAM distributor. In other countries, the relevant national regulations must be observed. The xenon lamp body is always under high pressure. In the event of impact or damage, explosive shattering is possible. Used XBO® reflector lamps should therefore be stored in an inaccessible location and in the supplied protective sleeve or with the protective cap fitted until they are disposed of.Used XBO® reflector lamps must be handed over for disposal in the undamaged original packaging or the pressure in the lamp is released before being handed over. To do this, the lamp must be completely covered with leather or a coarse, thick fabric. With protective clothing in place (safety goggles, gloves and suitable protection for the neck area, e.g. thick scarf), the XBO® reflector lamp must be shattered with a suitable tool so that the fill gas escapes from the burner. Pressure relief is essential for disposal in order to avoid dangerous accidents from improper handling of the lamp during disposal.LiteratureFurther technical information on XBO® lamps and notes for manufacturers of control gear can be obtained directly from OSRAM.Lamp power: 100 WLuminous flux: 530 lm
